Plastics Pigments are used as coloring agents in the production of many types of plastics. However, many of the pigment colors contain either heavy metals or strategically important metals such as lead, cadmium, chromium, and cobalt. Worldwide environmental awareness and stricter laws being passed by legislation to reduce or eliminate heavy-metal-based colorants is resulting in increasing demands for environmentally friendly pigments that have high-performance properties in plastics.
